How this project came to be.
The moment I saw that little action figure of Ultraman at that store, one I had not seen in many, many years, the mental wheels started turning. I was immediately transported back in time to a memory of my childhood. Watching Ultraman on the black and white, floor model television set. Laying on duotone orange and green shag carpet in the living room, resting my head firmly upon hands on bent wrists, elbows firmly planted on the floor. Staring with wonder and joy.
Scale always amazes me - and still does - when things look much bigger than they are and other things appear to be much smaller. It really stimulated my imagination.
I had originally planned to have these photos framed and hanging up in a gallery, with an opening reception that included a live DJ, visuals and all things "Ultra Cool" but reality (and money) told a different story, "Just do an online exhibit."
So here it is! Stretching our perception . . .
